Remember to refer to the person first then their disability. For example, don't say my autistic son instead say my son who has autism. They are always a person first:)

DO YOU KNOW WHAT ABA IS?
Applied Behavior Analysis is a great scientific based treatment that improves lives. It is based on reinforcement and focuses on changing socially significant behaviors to improve the clients life. Unfortunately insurance does not cover this therapy yet in all states. I am trying to work on that one still:) In Behavior Analysis we try and find out what behavior needs to be targeted for change or improvement and then work on those things. I am currently studying to become an associate behavior analyst and am excited with all that I have learned so far. I can't wait to use these skills to help others improve their lives.

This is a project that my friend and I helped to create. We have done these with schools, churches, and different clubs (like girl scouts). Each rotation boards lets the kids get to experience what it may feel like to have a disability. They get to experience it just a little bit. I even had the sunday school teachers at my church go through these. Check them out: www.justlikemeawareness.com
